Additional Information

Due to sand being heavier than water we recommend you fill the base of your sparring bob with sand to avoid any movement of the unit when in use.

Please look out for cheap copies of the BOB and BOB XL - They are manufactured with a vastly inferior material and low quality foam. They can be spotted easily as they will often not have a height adjustable base. Remember if it does not carry the Century logo then it is not an official BOB!

DISAPPOINTED, BUT PROBABLY JUST UNLUCKY

Delivery was great, product looked great and it was relatively easy to set up and fill. I had read the excellent reviews, and I was probably just unlucky. It was fine until - unfortunately after about three weeks (just using it a couple of times a week), the screws popped off, and one screw brought the casing out with it, so couldn't be put back. Newitts were fantastic and, with our photographic evidence, arranged for the the item to be picked up and are issuing a full refund.

Performs exactly as expected

The BOB's an excellent target, providing opportunities to practise precision striking and adjusts to a wide range of heights. If the base is filled all the way with water, it will only topple if you attack while advancing your full weight (doing a similar thing to a heavy bag would cause it to swing away from you and then past your head as you advanced). Great for training styles that rely on hitting a target hard and accurately, but not going to resist a flying side kick or a full-body charge. 1-year warranty is also readily fulfilled if there's any damage to the product while you're using it.

Incredible product

I love my sparring Bob! It's so much better than a punch bag. My only suggestion is fill the base with DRY sand. Water doesn't make it heavy enough and it moves and builders sand is far too moist to fill Bob in any suitable time. Dry sand just goes straight in like dream.

Good service from Newitts but disappointing product

Can't fault Newitts as delivery was flawless. Always wanted a Century Bob and read a hundred reviews before buying, but alas I'm disappointed. The base filling process is laborious to say the least and when you start using it you realise it wasn't worth the effort as, no matter how heavy you make the base, Bob rocks around like a weeble wobble making a hell of a noise in the process. I'm not exactly a heavyweight boxer at 12 stone (and I'm not even a boxer) so I'd imagine the problem would be even worse for a big hitter. Had I known I'd have bought a rival product for half the price instead of paying a premium for what I thought was the best of the best.

Solidly put together.

A little bit more expensive than some free standing sparring partners but the extra cost is well worth it. Much more robust than some other models. Two months of daily abuse now and no signs of damage or cracking of material. Highly recommended.

Cracking piece of kit - first class delivery

Great bag, pretty realistic and more motivational for me to have a human form target. You don't need the XL for boxing type training. Easy to set up - the screws at the back (6 of them) are a bit fiddly but base a cinch to fill. Quality product. Best price I could find and delivery was swift, comms were great and I'd buy from here if you're in the market for one.
